Bowater Coosa Pines Contractors and Visitors:

As of January 1, 2007 our facility will implement a new web-based Environmental, Health and Safety training program for our contractors, consultants, and visitors. It is a mandatory requirement that everyone abide by all Bowater safety and environmental policies.; The safety of our employees and contractors is of paramount importance to us.

To verify safety and environmental training, and to assess your understanding and retention of these topics, you will be required to qualify on a Web-based (Internet) Orientation and Evaluation Program before you report to work at our facility. This program must be completed before your work at our location begins. If you have taken our existing training during the 2006 calendar year the time you have remaining under that training will be accepted until the expiration date at which time you will be expected to complete the new training program. It will be your responsibility to have all your employees complete this training prior to arriving at the mill site. No on-site contractor training session will be given after January 1, 2007. Beginning January 1, 2007 anyone arriving at our gates without successfully completing this program or without time remaining under the existing program will be denied entrance. Escorted Visitor sessions will still be available at the Visitor Center.

When you successfully pass the Review and Evaluation Tests, your computer system will print a Certification of Completion, valid for one year from the date you passed the Evaluation Tests. Bring this Certificate of Completion to our entrance gate, and you will be given a hard hat / identification decal. Prior to decal expiration the following year, you are required to re-access the web site and take the Evaluation Tests again for a new Certification and decal.

You will self-register on the web site, and pay a $20.00 access fee to Abbottsfield Industrial Training, Inc. This fee can be paid by credit card (preferred method), or by invoice. You will obtain more information during the registration process.
